Tripoli SC – 2011/2012 – We are the Champions… somehow.
I normally post month by month, however realised it was too time consuming. Therefore I’ll just make summaries at the end of every season or at the end of every mid-season/January. My next post will analyse EURO 2012 as it occurs within my save and show the rest of leagues/player stats within my save. The post after that will show the development of all custom regens which you all asked me to create!
For those of you who don’t know yet, Tripoli SC were predicted to finish 9th out of 12 within the Lebanese Premier League this season. These are the final standings:
Hoooooray! It was tough, but we did it… somehow.
Within January, as you can see I had a bit of a clear out.
I got rid of players who were complaining because they weren’t being played and loaned out Swidan because he’s an excellent future prospect and didn’t want to sell him.
I won’t go into too much detail about how we did in the Lebanese FA Cup since we were strangely knocked out in the first round whilst playing a weak side. However, 2nd placed Al Safa ended up winning the FA Cup. This factor I believe helped us secure the league, simply because they had to concentrate on two competitions simultaneously whilst we only had to concentrate on the league. It paid off. Below are our league results and goalscorers:
Throughout the season, I have been linked with a lot of jobs within England & Egypt. After winning the title, I was the bookies’ favourite to get the job offer. However I was never approached by anybody.
I decided that I fancied a summer job. So I applied to become Egypt’s U23 manager during the upcoming Olympics.
Surprisingly, I was turned down.
There is currently a job advert for the Lebanon U23 job. However if I am going to get another job, it would have to be an only job. I have tried managing a club and national team simultaneously before, however have not enjoyed it and felt it was too much work.
It is still early days and you never know – I might get approached by a team? I might find a nice application and apply to it? We’ll just have to wait and see. It’s good to have my first piece of silverware on the board though.
